Setting your MyPartyGenie Privacy and Communication Preferences
MyPartyGenie is a social networking website designed for people to share nightlife, party, entertainment, travel and other information, photos, videos and blogs. We take privacy issues very seriously and want to make sure that members have great flexibility in deciding upon their optimal privacy settings.
To become a member of MyPartyGenie one must create a personal profile. Similar to other social networking websites, the following types of information are requested to establish a profile: name, email address, current city, party priorities, birthday, interests, and a profile photo. You may also, optionally, enter your gender, website, phone number, languages spoken, favorite festive occasions, and preferences for movies, music, drinks, relationship status and party cities.
By default, profiles are open and accessible to anyone else on the site. By going to the Profile Page and clicking “Profile and Privacy Settings”, however, one may limit what information is viewable, and to whom. Things like your real name, gender, birthday, location, interests, and relationship status are all modifiable so that such information is limited to self only, friends, friends of friends, or everyone. Photos can be limited to just your friends. As such, please make sure you review your privacy settings once you have registered and adjust them according to your preferences.
While using MyPartyGenie you may wish to upload wikis on the nightlife of certain countries or cities, as well as venue reviews, photos or videos, and you may wish to upload comments, tips or blogs on public areas of the website. It is subsequently always possible to go back and edit or delete any such postings.
MyPartyGenie will send members notifications and updates to the email address the member specified when establishing their account. All such notifications can be managed or discontinued by going to the Profile Page and clicking “Profile and Privacy Settings”. MyPartyGenie will never send members spam or install any software programs that knowingly contain phishing devices or anything else that could compromise the security and privacy of its members.
Who can Use this website
This website contains information about nightlife venues, such as bars and clubs, where alcohol may be served. Therefore, users of this website should be of legal age to enter nightlife venues in their respective country. For more information please see the MyPartyGenie Terms of Service.
Information obtained by Third Parties
MyPartyGenie will never provide its members’ names or email information to a third source. MyPartyGenie is currently an advert-free website dedicated to assuring its members an interactive social experience without the annoyances of marketers or advertisers. Should this policy ever change we will post an update to this section.
Information Security
MyPartyGenie makes every effort to maintain the security of your account information. However, information transmitted over the internet is never 100% secure. Do not give out your password to anyone. Please note that we will never ask for your password.
Deleting your account
MyPartyGenie members always have the option to delete their account. This is easy to do. One simply needs to go to the profile page and click “Profile and Privacy Settings”. From there click “Deactivate Account” and then click “Submit”. Deactivating an account removes all of the personal content and correspondence that member has ever uploaded or sent. The only content that remains on the site after an account is deactivated are non-personal items, like wiki descriptions of cities (which do not show authorship) and city and country page photos (which do not show who uploaded them).
