The Red Lion Tavern, tucked away in the Silver Lake neighborhood, is there to remind you that the greatest form of entertainment is the most basic: sitting with friends, stuffing your face with meat, and guzzling fermented beverages while a nice old man plays pop hits on a piano. Red Lion's generous portions of brat, bock, and knackwursts will make you blush, and the lederhosen-clad staff faithfully pour Spaten, Bitburger, and Köstritzer, to name a few. And because you're in Southern California, you can enjoy it all in the outdoor beer garden year round. It's not a 24/7 Oktoberfest, but it can get plenty wild and memorable, and, of course, filling.
