The Local is just a hop, skip, and a drunken stumble from some of Atlanta's most celebrated bars and venues, and it's made itself indispensable in that location by becoming a staging ground of sorts for those Big Weekend Nights. So, if you're in it for the long haul (or have come around to realize that drinking on Saturday afternoons is far superior to Saturday nights), arrive early and claim one of the few outdoor booths. Order a PBR in the famed 24 oz "Master Cylinder." Drop by on a slower weeknight, and you can better appreciate the great food (start with a pint glass of Belgian fries and hush puppies) and excellent service. On Monday nights there’s a "Never Leave Ponce" Dance Party in the tiny front area of the bar. It's cramped, but undeniably fun even if dance parties aren't your thing. Even though you likely came here to pre-game, you might just decide to let the crowds go elsewhere and stay behind for a few more.
